Kalamazoo, MI—Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet and Urban Bonfire, which manufacture kitchen cabinetry integrated with appliances for the trending outdoor kitchen market, merged to form Pleina Group, a new multi-brand holding company.
Each remain an independent entity with no changes in headquarter locations and manufacturing processes.
“Kalamazoo and Urban Bonfire have a long history of collaboration rooted in a common passion,” says Pete Georgiadis, CEO of Pleina Group and Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet. Ryan Bloom is president of Urban Bonfire and was named chief vision officer of Pleina Group.
Michigan-based Kalamazoo produces outdoor cooking spaces, developing appliances and cabinetry aimed at performance, quality and design. Its Arcadia line of stainless cabinets features a choice of FSC-certified, oiled ipe wood, or charcoal gray powder-coated with a textured finish, as well as more than 200 RAL colors of powder-coated stainless steel. Québec-based Urban Bonfire designs and manufactures outdoor kitchens and entertainment areas integrated with existing outdoor appliance brands and countertops. Its marine-grade aluminum cabinets are finished in an antimicrobial NACRAĒ™ finish with Cosentino Dekton countertops and panels.
Kalamazoo has more than a 100-year history of craftsmanship and expertise in metal fabrication and incorporates wood facings and components on cabinetry designs. Urban Bonfire‘s offices, design studio and 10,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facilities are based in Montreal, Canada.
