International Woodworking Fair, LLC – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 15, 2023

Updates to this Privacy Policy

IWF reserves the right, at any time, to modify this Privacy Policy. All such modifications will be effective upon posting the revised Privacy Policy on the Site and we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically so that you keep up to date on our most current Privacy Policy and practices.

What Information Does IWF Collect?

IWF collects information in two ways: (1) directly from you and (2) automatically as a result of your participation in an IWF Event or use of the Site.

Information Collected Directly from You. We may collect and retain information directly provided by you. For example, we collect the information you give us when you:

  • Communicate with us, such as to provide feedback, ask for additional information, or make a request;
  • Register for or manage an account with us;
  • Register for or participate in an IWF Event;
  • Make a purchase through the Site; or
  • Subscribe to newsletters, email lists, or other content that we provide.

We may collect information such as your first and last name, home or other physical address, email address, telephone number, credit card or other payment information and any other information that you provide to us. You may choose not to provide certain information to us, but doing so may restrict your ability to use the Site or participate in an Event.

Information Collected Automatically. We may also collect certain information through the use of automated means. When you visit or use the Site, we may collect information such as:

  • Your IP address;
  • The type of browser, devices and operating systems you use;
  • Identifiers associated with the device(s) you use to access the Site;
  • Records of the actions you take while using our Site and your interactions with the Site, such as the pages you visit and the features you use, including dates and times;
  • If you navigated from or navigate to another website and the address of that website; and
  • Information regarding your internet service provider.

In addition, we may collect information about your activities on the Site through the use of cookies, clear GIFs or web beacons, local shared objects or Flash cookies, or through other identifiers or technologies, including similar technologies, as they may evolve over time. We refer to these technologies collectively as “Data Technologies.”

We may allow third parties to use Data Technologies on the Site. The information collected by Data Technologies may be shared with and used by us, by others acting on our behalf, or by third parties for our business purposes. Information collected by Data Technologies may be used on this or on other websites or services, including those that may not be operated by us.

Email. We may collect information regarding the effectiveness of our email and other communications with you. For example, we may know if you open an email we send or follow a link in an email we send to you.

IWF Events. If you attend an IWF Event, your event badge may contain an electronic tag, which will allow us to follow your movements through the IWF Event, your visits to exhibitions within the IWF Event and your attendance at educational sessions to enhance your IWF Event experience. Please see the Your Choices section below for information about how you can opt-out.

Information from Other Sources. We may obtain information about you from other third parties. For example, we may obtain information about you from other fairs or exhibitors. This information may also include information about your use of the Site, your use of other websites, your interests and preferences and other information about you or your household. We and others may combine this information with information we have collected about you.

With Whom Do We Share Information That We Collect?

IWF may share the information we collect (i) as you expressly authorize us to; (ii) as permitted by law; and (iii) with third parties, including:

Service Providers and Business Partners. We may share information with service providers who help us to administer our Site, plan or facilitate IWF Events or travel, provide technology used at IWF Events, conduct surveys, provide technical support, or send marketing, promotions, and communications related to our business, and process payments. These service providers include analytics companies, advertising networks and others, such as those that provide Data Technologies on the Site.

Third Party Promotions and Offerings. We may offer events, contests, sweepstakes, promotions, or other promotional offerings on the Site with our third party partners.

Advertising Networks. We may work with advertising networks that deliver targeted advertisements to consumers and generate statistics and metrics related to the delivery of such advertisements. Advertising networks collect information about the websites that you visit and the advertisements that you interact with, over time and across websites, and use it to serve you targeted ads on this Site or other websites based on your inferred interests and preferences as well as for auditing, research and reporting to us. This data collection takes place both on this Site and on third-party websites that participate in the advertising networks. To see how you can opt-out of targeted advertising by advertising networks, see the section below titled “Your Choices,” which discusses how to opt-out of “Targeted Advertising.”

Corporate Affiliates and Partners. We may share information with our corporate affiliates for their business purposes, to provide services or for marketing purposes. We may also partner with other entities as part of our business, and we may share information as part of such ventures.

IWF Event Exhibitors, Attendees, Sponsors and Advertisers. We may share information with exhibitors and attendees at IWF Events to enable them to provide you with content and services. We may also share information with entities that sponsor or advertise at IWF Events and exhibitors as well as potential sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors to describe our services to them and facilitate their participation in an IWF Event.

Business Transfer. We may share information we have gathered about you in connection with the sale or merger of our business or the transfer of assets.

We may also disclose information in response to subpoenas, warrants, or court orders, or in connection with any legal process, to comply with relevant laws, or in response to other government requests. We may also share your information in order to establish or exercise our rights, to defend against a legal claim, protect the rights, health, or interests of any person or the public, or to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safety of person or property, or a violation of our Terms and Conditions.

We may also make aggregated information available to third parties for their own purposes.

Information Security

We take measures designed to secure and protect information transmitted via or stored on the Site. Despite these measures, we cannot guarantee the security of networks, servers and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf or that the information you transmit to IWF over the Internet will not be intercepted, deleted or altered.

Please assist us in protecting your information. If a password is used to help protect your account and information, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone and please notify us if you believe that your password has been stolen or might have otherwise been misused.

Links

The Site may contain links to websites and services not operated by IWF, including various social media websites, surveys or other promotions. We suggest that you review the applicable privacy policy of the third party website or service regarding, among other things, how they will handle any information they collect from or about you. We are not responsible for the content of third party services or websites, your use of those services or websites, or the privacy practices of the third party operating those services or websites.

Notice of Monitoring

We and our service providers and third party partners may monitor any use of or activity on the our Site and may capture and retain records reflecting your activity on our Site for our business purposes. This may include records reflecting actions you take while using our Site (such as clicks on pages or links, items viewed, scrolling, time spent on pages, and other activities), records of parts or all of your sessions on our Site, information you submit on or via our Site, or communications or information sent through or using our Site. The Data Technologies described in this Privacy Policy may also collect the foregoing information reflecting your use of and activity on our Site, or may enable our third party partners to collect such information. This information may be collected, retained, captured, and/or monitored by us or by our service providers and third party partners.  If you do not consent to the monitoring described here, you should not use our Site.

Your Choices

You may limit and control the information provided to us in a number of ways; however, you may not be able to use all features of the Site if you limit the information you share with us.

Account Information. If you have registered for an account through the Site, you may correct, update or delete the information contained in your account by logging in to your account and editing your information. Note that we may keep historical information in our backup files as permitted by law.

Emails. You can stop receiving promotional emails by submitting a request to the address in the “Contact Us” section below or following the unsubscribe instructions in e-mails that you receive. Clicking on an unsubscribe link will take you to a webpage where you can complete the opt-out process. If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you transactional communications, such as those about your account, relating to an IWF Event for which you have registered, to fulfill orders you have made, to ask you to rate a product you purchased, or IWF Event you attended, or other service-related communications.

Event Badges. If you attend an IWF Event, you will have the option when you receive your event badge at registration or check-in to opt-out of having an electronic tag placed on your badge.

Cookies. Your browser and your device may provide you the option to limit the use of cookies or other Data Technologies. You should refer to your web browser’s or mobile device’s options or settings menu for more information about adjusting your settings. Disabling or rejecting cookies may disable some of the features and functionality of the Site.

Targeted Advertising. Many companies that collect information for targeted advertising are members of either the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) or the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”). The NAI and the DAA offer the ability for you to opt-out of the targeted advertising programs of their members. The NAI op-out is available at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp and the DAA opt-out is available at http://www.aboutads.info/choices. Please note that if you use a different computer, change your web browser, or delete your cookies, you will need to renew all of your opt-out choices. Please also note that this does not opt you out of being served advertising but only excludes you from targeted (i.e. interest-based) advertising. If you use the Site, you will continue to receive generic advertisements.

At this time, there is no worldwide uniform or consistent industry standard or definition for responding to, processing, or communicating Do Not Track signals.
