Combustible wood dust remains a major fire and explosion risk in mills and shops. This session explains the shift to NFPA 660, the consolidated standard superseding NFPA 664, and what it means for dust-hazard analysis, housekeeping thresholds, ignition control, deflagration venting, and isolation. We’ll map requirements to typical woodworking processes—cutting, sanding, CNC routing, conveying, and storage—and highlight failure points from recent incidents.
