The building supply retail chain has opened its first store in the Pittsburgh market, one of 20 new locations planned for this year.
The rapidly growing specialty retailer of hard surface flooring and related accessories for homeowners and professionals has opened in the southern Pittsburgh suburb of Bethel Park.
At the start of the year, the chain said it expected to open 20 new warehouse locations in 2026, which follows its forecast made on an earlier fourth-quarter earnings call where executives said the retailer aims to have a footprint in every major U.S. market by the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with a long-term goal of 500 warehouse-format stores.
Floor & Decor stores, as the name suggests, offer shoppers a broad assortment of hard-surface flooring, including tile, wood, laminate, vinyl and natural stone, along with decorative accessories and wall tile, installation materials and related categories.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Floor & Decor operated 270 warehouse-format stores and five design studios across 39 states at the end of fiscal 2025. Its net sales for the year were $4.7 billion, up 5.1 percent from $4.6 billion in fiscal 2024. However, comp store sales did decline 1.8 percent for the year, indicating the ongoing softness in the home building and remodeling market.
