Riviera Beach, FL—Cook & Boardman, a unit of investors Littlejohn & Co., acquired Riviera Beach, FL-based National Millwork (NMI).
National Millwork, founded in 1998 by Otto Nonnenmann and Michael Bosco, manufactures and installs pre-hung, pocket, bypass, and exterior doors, clubhouse and lobby finishes, and interior trim and mouldings. It also operates full hollow metal, door, key and hardware shops. NMI also supplies and installs Division 10 specialty products, a construction specification that refers to commercial bathroom partitions and washroom accessories, and subcontracts other projects for builders.
“NMI fits perfectly into our strategy of offering total opening solutions,” says Darrin Anderson, CEO of Cook & Boardman. “Their manufacturing capabilities and installation services will allow us to deliver an even greater value proposition to our customers on multi-family and commercial construction projects—including interior pre-hung doors.” In 2015, NMI expanded its geographic reach and distribution capabilities with the acquisition of Elite Door & Trim in Denton, TX, and moved into a new 45,000-sq.-ft. headquarters and manufacturing facility, then upgraded equipment at its Texas and Florida plants in 2016.
Cook & Boardman has acquired 18 other door and construction related businesses since it was purchased in 2018 by investment group Littlejohn & Co., which also holds stakes in Northwest Hardwoods and Accuride. It is now the premier distributor of commercial doors, frames, and hardware and one of the nation’s fastest-growing providers of integrated security solutions. The company serves multi-family and non-residential markets including commercial, education, government, healthcare, office, and hospitality sectors from more than 70 locations across 21 states and through its e-commerce portal at www.cookandboardman.com
