Most power tool manufacturers have been able to develop cordless technologies that are equal, if not better, than their now outdated tethered predecessors. In the specific realm of nailers, most power tool companies are falling short. The most widely available variations are still underpowered , slow, and/or large, heavy and bulky. Grex at IWF Booth B4446. has developed the most efficient combustion-based technology, allowing them to build the smallest, most compact, lightest weight cordless nailers with no compromise on power.
Even after six years, their GC1850 cordless 2-inch, 18-gauge brad nailer is still by far the closest you can get to an air-powered tool. Grex cordless tools are powered by an innovative internal combustion engine and drive nails by simply igniting a fuel and air mixture.
Other cordless nailers require expensive, bulky, and heavy rechargeable batteries. But the Grex Cordless only requires two AAA batteries and allows you to fire over 50,000 shots. Grex eliminates the cost of traditional power tool rechargeable batteries as well as the downtime associated with charging.
The Grex cordless tools also have the lowest cost of fuel. Its advanced fueling system allows it to use simpler fuel cartridges that are less expensive, not foul-smelling, and have no expiration date.
Grex has always been recognized best for its premium line of 23-gauge headless pinners, constantly leading and advancing this tool category over the last 17 years. This trend continued when they released their GCP650 in 2019; the world’s first cordless 2-inch 23-gauge headless pinner.
Handling, ergonomics, size, and weight are critical to making the transition from cord to cordless seamless, especially in finishing applications where every detail matters to the craftsman. So Grex spent the last several years further refining its technology, making its cordless pinner even smaller and more ergonomic than its cordless, 18-gauge tool.
The newest cordless, the GCH850, is the world’s first cordless 2-inch 21-gauge brad nailer, making it the most versatile cordless finish nailer in the industry. A perfect compromise providing holding power closer to that of an 18-gauge brad nail but leaving a hole size closer to that of a 23-gauge pin. This translates into both time and cost savings by being able to go onto a jobsite with only one nailer instead of two different tools.
But don’t let the small size of these tools fool you. Every tool from their cordless line packs a big punch. Like its pneumatic counterparts, the Grex cordless tools can drive the longest pins into solid red oak.
Innovative design, materials, and manufacturing processes have been employed to offer tools that require minimal maintenance, resulting in less downtime. All of these tools have been consciously designed to allow normal maintenance to be as simple and cost-effective as traditional pneumatic nailers. Stay tuned, because their family of cordless tools will continue to grow.
