Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association (AIMSAD) was established in Istanbul on June 6, 2014. AIMSAD, whose foundations were laid by taking the structures of non-governmental organizations in Europe as an example, aims to be the unifying force of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector since the day it was founded. With 124 members today, AIMSAD aims to strengthen cooperation, solidarity, and knowledge sharing among companies engaged in the production and representation of woodworking machinery and related industries. The association, whose membership consists largely of machinery manufacturers, carries out initiatives that contribute to the sector’s sustainable growth. AIMSAD aims to support the development of its members in economic, financial, legal, administrative, technological, and commercial areas, while also seeking to enhance the sector’s competitiveness in international markets. AIMSAD is a strong representative of the sector not only in Türkiye but also on the international stage. The association plays an active role in key organizations such as the European Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers Federation (EUMABOIS). AIMSAD launched its international representation efforts by participating in the EUMABOIS General Assembly held in Verona, Italy, in 2014, and became a member of the federation that same year. Elected to the EUMABOIS Board of Directors in 2016, the association made a significant contribution to promoting the sector internationally by hosting the EUMABOIS General Assembly in Türkiye in 2018. AIMSAD continues its efforts with a clear understanding of the importance of trade shows and industry events in enhancing the sector’s visibility on the international stage. In this context, the association, which has been collaborating for many years with RX Tüyap, one of Türkiye’s leading trade show organizers, contributes to the development of the WoodTech Fair, one of the sector’s biggest meeting points. As one of the largest sector-specific events in the Eurasian region, WoodTech brings together the production power and technological capabilities of Türkiye’s woodworking machinery sector with international visitors, while enabling companies to establish new business connections and achieve greater visibility in global markets. AIMSAD launched the www.twm.com.tr portal in 2020 to enable its member companies to promote their products in the global market. The platform has received more than 100,000 visits to date and attracts a lot of interest from countries such as India, the USA, China, the UK, Iran, Egypt, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Russia. Through the portal, members can directly promote their products to international buyers by sharing product catalogs, technical specifications, photos, and videos. The platform, which operates in both Turkish and English, stands out as a key tool for enhancing the Turkish woodworking machinery sector’s global reach in the digital sphere. Launched in 2015, AIMSAD Magazine stands out as a key publication featuring the latest sector developments, analyses, and interviews. Published bimonthly with six issues per year, the magazine reaches a wide readership through both print and digital formats. Launched in 2024 as part of AIMSAD’s international promotional strategy, TWM Magazine is a fully English-language, digitally produced sector publication aimed at increasing the global visibility of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector.
