The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) established in 1992 as a trade organization dedicated to the promotion and sustainable development of Malaysia’s timber industry. Serving as a key link between Malaysian timber exporters and global markets, MTC plays a vital role in strengthening the international presence of Malaysian timber products while supporting industry growth at home. MTC represents a diverse range of timber products, including sawn timber, plywood, veneer, furniture, and value-added items such as builders’ joinery, carpentry, and millwork. These products are manufactured using both tropical hardwoods—renowned for their strength and durability. Malaysian wood industry also work with imported temperate species, offering flexibility to meet varying market requirements. A core focus of MTC is sustainability and responsible forest management.
