Lakeville, MN—Kambium, Inc., a contract manufacturer of wood laminate components, acquired Perfection Custom Closets, Niles, IL.
The transaction closed May 31, 2022, according to Generational Equity, a mergers and acquisitions advisor that advised Perfection Closets on the deal. Kambium, located in Lakeville, MN, is a leading manufacturer and wholesaler of closets and home storage cabinetry, store display fixtures, custom casework, and commercial cabinetry.
Founded in 1997, Kambium provides engineering, contract manufacturing, and assembly primarily for wood and laminate components. Services include manufacture of closets and garage systems, assembly, machined components, miter folding, store fixtures, tabletops and office furniture, custom casework, and cut-to-size edgebanding. It also machines some acrylic components. Its business area is concentrated in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, and the greater Midwest.
Tim O’Hagan founded Perfection Custom Closets in 1999. Prior to that he was vice president of components manufacturer and IWF exhibitor Brown Wood Products (Booth C2262). Perfection Closets provides custom closets to homeowners and builders, as well as wholesale closet manufacturing for resellers.
