Course Description
Presented by: Lignum Consulting, Inc.
This session, hosted by Lignum Consulting, offers a guided tour experience through selected booths, each featuring short expert presentations that bring the principles of Industry 5.0 and the Smart Factory to life. Participants will explore how Industry 5.0 builds upon previous industrial revolutions by merging advanced production technologies with intelligent information systems to enable highly flexible, connected, and personalized manufacturing environments.
The tour highlights Human–AI collaboration, where cognitive systems augment human expertise; the shift toward sustainable and mass customized production; and the role of adaptive, learning technologies in enabling autonomous decision-making. At each stop, experts will showcase practical examples of end-to-end process connectivity—from order to production to delivery—and explain how seamless communication among humans, machines, and products enables real-time data flow and dynamic production planning.
The experience also introduces the seven dimensions of holistic connectivity (Strategy, Product, Organization, Logistics, Technology, Data Integration, People), discusses common implementation challenges, and demonstrates tools such as the Orbit Model for readiness assessments and strategic planning. The guided tour concludes with an invitation to explore concrete pathways for building and scaling smart factory solutions within your own organization.
