Showplace Cabinetry $2.5 M Investment Adds 30% to Frameless Capacity

Harrisburg, SD—Showplace Cabinetry has completed a construction project linking its two manufacturing plants in Harrisburg, SD to a central shipping point.

The expansion improves logistics for Showplace framed cabinetry and its increasingly popular frameless ShowplaceEVO line, enhancing warehousing and transportation efficiencies company-wide. Prior to completion, materials were trucked from Showplace’s panel warehouse or the framed cabinet plant to the EVO facility and then finished EVO cabinet orders were sent back to the shipping area in the framed cabinet facility.

“Demand required us to find an innovative solution to improved logistics and enhanced ShowplaceEVO production,” says Showplace CEO Bill Allen. “The new warehouse and shipping link solves both challenges.” The change increases capacity in the EVO plant, first opened in 2015.

“By freeing up space in the ShowplaceEVO production plant, we have increased production capacity by 30 percent,” Allen says. “By January 2022, we will be able to manufacture up to 250 ShowplaceEVO cabinets a day.” Allen became CEO in January 2021 as founder Paul Sova retired. Jeremy Seykora was promoted from production manager of the ShowplaceEVO plant to director of manufacturing for the entire Showplace operation.

The $2.5 million project included construction of a 16,500-sq.ft. connector building, and streamlined logistics and handling. Since its founding in 1999, Showplace has expanded frequently, adding to the original Harrisburg plant in 2002, 2005, and 2007. The company’s door facility in Beresford, SD, which opened in 2001, was doubled in size in 2005, and the ShowplaceEVO manufacturing plant was built in 2015.

“We’re always ready to invest in the future of our company with increased production space and innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers across North America,” Allen says. “This new expansion gives us the space we need to take our quality production and customer service to the next level.”

Employee-owned Showplace Cabinetry manufactures made-to-order cabinetry for the home, sold through 900 independent kitchen and bath dealers in 50 states and parts of Canada. Showplace has 547 employees in its three manufacturing facilities.
