Discovery LXE HQ Anniversary Edition with Kitchen Island image

Decatur, IN – Making history, REV Recreation Group, a manufacturer of Class A motorhomes, reported nearly 40% sales growth at an industry show in February, driven by its popular Fleetwood RV Discovery line. REV debuted a unique layout that features one of the industry’s first kitchen islands (above) in a Class A motorhome. Amenities include a farmhouse sink, solid surface countertops, and hand-made painted hardwood Heritage cabinetry.

High Point, NC – Stanley Furniture suspended all domestic operations at its U.S. plant on March 31, and employees were laid off.  “We sincerely regret the inconveniences this pause in domestic operations will cause you. We will work hard to rectify the situation as quickly as possible and will communicate to you when that pathway becomes clear,” reports Furniture Today. The venerable firm, for a time publicly traded, is now privately held.

Seabees anchor desk design

Washington, DC – Past and present came together when a team of Seabees, the U.S. Navy’s construction unit, crafted a desk made of timber from the USS Constitution (aka “Old Ironsides”) for the Vice President of the United States. The team also built a desk for the Secretary of the Navy (above) made of parts from the frigates USS Constitution, USS Chesapeake, sloop of war USS Constellation, and battleships USS Texas, USS New Jersey, and USS Arizona.

Strongsville, OHWoodpeckers, a precision woodworking tools company (and frequent IWF exhibitor) based in Strongsville, OH, near Cleveland, signed a 79,000-sq.-ft. lease in a new industrial building in its home town, making it the largest tenant in the property.
