Kitchens and Millwork Upgraded Amid High Demand for Trailers

Oxnard, CA— Bowlus, a travel trailer manufacturer, says enhanced kitchen storage is now standard on all its models, though high demand for customization continues.

“We’re taking some of the technologies developed for our special edition Terra Firma model and making them standard,” says Geneva Long, founder and CEO of Bowlus. “The luxury industry now more than ever is fully optioning their vehicles and, in fact, they’re demanding innovations from bespoke models. For 2022 we’re elevating our standard products with unparalleled craftsmanship.”

Bowlus history stretches back almost 90 years, with a fascinating origin with designer, engineer and aircraft builder Hawley Bowlus. With his background in aviation, Bowlus completed construction on the world’s first aluminum riveted travel trailer in 1934, based on his determination to build a lightweight model that could transport flight crews to remote takeoff locations.

The iconic teardrop design has been reimagined for the 21st century by Geneva Long, founder and CEO of Bowlus, who began conceptualizing the return of the Bowlus brand while at the Wharton School. Geneva’s passion for Bowlus combines her love for adventure with the challenge of creating meaningful user-centered, sustainable design.

Long says bespoke customization options are more popular than ever and continue into 2022, with more than 56 million different available combinations to personalize seating, flooring, bedding, and awnings choices. Clients can create a completely unique, one-of-a-kind luxury RV designed to their specific tastes. Prices start at $215,000.

Luxury land travelers have been spending more time dining in their mobile sanctuaries. So for 2022, Bowlus has reimagined kitchen storage and functionality for those who are interested in off-grid meals in the comfort of their RV.

In the kitchen, the updated 2022 Bowlus includes extra-large, hard pull and soft close drawers which are unique to Bowlus. Each drawer has the ability to hold a vast range of dishware and cookware, and includes a second drawer that can be used as an alternate pantry. The features are extended to the expertly designed chef’s kitchen, which offers a premium culinary experience off-grid, with its modern design, double-burner gas cooktops, ample counter space, and marine-grade refrigerator and freezer.

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a boom in demand for RVs, with Winnebago, Airstream, and Thor Industries driving demand for wood component manufacturers in Elkhart County, IN including Patrick Industries, Genesis Products, and a new expansion at MJB Wood Group.
