Atlanta, GA—David Thomas has been named technical service manager at Biele USA, part of Biele Group, a global engineering and automation firm specializing in woodworking, building products, and automotive industries.

“David’s background in field service and project management will play a critical role supporting our customers and production lines in North America,” says Biele USA General Manager Juan Flores.

Thomas brings a depth of experience in electrical and automation service engineering and project installation. He has more than 18 years of experience in managing technical services for companies headquartered both in the U.S. and abroad, including Hitachi, Eisenmann, and Arol, the packaging enclosure manufacturer headquartered in Italy.

“I am excited to be part of Biele Group and contribute to the growth of the Technical Service capabilities of the company in the U.S.,” Thomas says.

Biele USA (IWF Booth B7523) is part of Biele SA, headquartered in Spain, and providing state-of-the art turnkey projects for several sectors of the woodworking industry, often incorporating Biele’s own manufactured hydraulic presses. In 2015, Biele consolidated its presence in North America, installing manufacturing lines for leading companies and increasing the work team and capacity of its subsidiary Biele USA in Atlanta.

Biele is organized for developing, for manufacturing, for installing and for commissioning at the customer’s site production lines with a high level of technical complexity, but always using a customized approach.

At IWF 2022 Biele will show its latest innovations related to pressing operations for plywood, HPL and EIR technology. In plywood, Biele’s main expertise starts after the drying operation up to the final packaging of the line, including lay-up lines, pre-press and multiopening presses, trimming and packaging. Before the dryer, dewatering presses have been proven as a way of greatly reducing energy consumption by minimizing drying time.

For furniture manufacturers, Biele will show the latest generation high speed feeding and stacking systems (up to 30 cycles/min), fully automated outsorting and insorting systems, and fully automated packing lines organized in a modular way that can be installed in different stages to fit specific customer requirements.

For the door industry, Biele will demonstrate its ability to manufacture complete turnkey lines, both for residential doors and architectural doors.

In recent years, Biele has developed expertise in complete turnkey press lines for manufacturing lightboard panels using different type of glues for the bonding operation, e.g., PVAC and PUR. Using 4.0 Industry concepts Biele customers gain better control of the processes by means of a bigger volume of processed information.
