759Berenson Convertible LatchThe Berenson “Convertible Latch” incorporates the traditional latch operation that has been used for enerations and is enhanced with a way to lock the mechanism in the open position. By inserting 1 screw prior to installation the latch is converted to open all the time. This enables the latch to be used with modern soft close European or concealed hinges. The concept for the redesign came from the “No Pinch or Twist” requirements in the ADA. In the open or non-functional mode the latch can be opened with 1 finger so there is no pinch or twist required. There are no requirements in the ADA that we know of for cabinet hardware.
