Luke Barnett is a private industry woodworker turned educator. He served as CEO of an award winning windsor chair company. Has had works of arts featured in a Smithsonian Museum exhibit, and has has works grace the cover of several magazines. Luke now serves as the director of the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute. A woodworking specific vocational training school located in Adrian, Michigan. At just 32 years of age, Luke brings a fresh perspective to woodworking education, bringing revolutionary ideas and solutions to the rapidly changing woodworking industry.

The SBWI is an accredited education center recognized by the Woodworking Career Alliance of North America. We provide certification for over 250 different machine operations. We are a certified evaluation center that awards certificates, credentials, and transcripts that are recognized by woodworking manufacturers as proof of skill level and job experience. In partnership with the WCA, the current credentials program is recognized by the State of Michigan for its respective state-sponsored career and technical education programs.
Aside from workforce training, our certified woodworking facility allows us to offer project based woodworking classes to the public. We also have community outreach programs that allows us to teach woodworking to over 1000 kids per year for free. Helping erase the stigma that woodworking is an antiquated craft. We are building the talent pipeline for long term investment into the woodworking manufacturing Industry.
